EMDR Consultation With Allison

About me and my practice

I enjoy working with skeptics of the model and people who struggle to feel comfortable in their emotions. A large part of my phase 1 and 2 work is around feeling comfortable with emotions as they present themselves in the client's body system and everyday life. I do this through somatic awareness. This leads to a nice segue into the trauma work, whether we are working on finding the trauma or know exactly what it is. I often work with military veterans, veterinarians, full-time caregivers, and other people who feel impacted by their career.

Who works best with me?

I support EMDR clinicians who want to deepen their trauma work, integrate body-based approaches, and feel steadier and more grounded in challenging cases. My style is collaborative, attuned, and supportive.

I’m especially helpful for therapists who:

  • feel stuck in phases 3–6 or struggle with looping

  • want to explore countertransference in a safe, supportive space

  • encounter burnout or compassion fatigue or fear that they will

  • work with clients who work in emotionally stressful environments ( like responders, military, and health care professionals)

  • want confidence working with clients who are skeptical of the therapy

What can you expect from working with me?

  • My focus is helping you feel confident, regulated, and creatively engaged with your EMDR work.

  • I find it important to be both supportive and directive ( I will point out where you are doing well as well as where to improve)

  • We will work on your confidence. This therapy can be hard to get used to, but once you are in the flow, it becomes much easier

  • We will explore your countertransference. Countertransference is not always a bad thing when it is noticed.

  • We will problem solve together. I already have my style of EMDR, and I want you to find yours.

Cost

  • $90 per individual session
